COACHING HIGHLIGHT

Lark has been involved in many different aspects of horsemanship throughout her life. She was an active member in the Vancouver Pony club as a youth; she trained with many different hunter/jumper coaches as well through her teen and young adult life. Although she did pursue showing, she was always more drawn to the training challenges. She consistently craved riding and training horses that were considered difficult. Her many years of restarting track Thoroughbreds gave her invaluable grounding practices and skills that allowed her to slowly develop her training of practical, safe and personable horses. When her 4 children arrived she recognized the value in a good solid quarter horse to learn on and shifted her outlook to more western disciplines. She studied with many clinics and was mentored by riders and trainers who focus on horse behavior and who encourage training from the ground up. Her more recent Equine Facilitated Learning exploration has been paired with her University and College schooling. She is building and facilitating programs for both children and adults that allow for her and the horses to help encourage very basic but imperative life skills such as Communication, Self Care, Common Sense, Balance, Growth, Relicency and Leadership.
